  • lower third graphic options?

Hey, great responses, you are all great. Question about Final cut 6.

I’m cutting for the web, and using the lower third graphic text generator, the left justify seems locked to title safe for the text (The bar runs the entire width of the frame)

    1. Is there a way to set the text to extend through the entire frame (outside the title safe on the left – it already can extend beyond title safe on the right.)

    2. Is there also a way to adjust the position of the text and bar either up or down?

Or do I need to use a different text generator to do what I want?

    Thanks again.

Use a different text generator like Title 3D in combination with other graphics elements.

    All the best,

If you’re using FCP 6, use LiveType! Super easy and incredibly versityle if you dig in. Just check it out and if you need tutorials, check livetypecentral.com out. Some dog it but it’s amazing what it can do, easy, and a big mistake for Apple to drop it in fcs3!

There are also some great lower thirds included with Motion that are worth looking at. You can open them up directly in Final Cut Pro if you like. You have to be on Final Cut Pro 6 or 7 for that feature. Motion also gives you the ability to create your own motion templates to work with in Final Cut. There are tutorials here on the COW on how to do that. Best of luck and hope this helps.
