You can use Zaxwerk’s ProAnimator FX to import 3D objects. It should import:
FBX Animation (.fbx)
Maya/Wavefront (.obj)
3D Studio Models (.3ds)
Lightwave Models (.lwo)
Electric Image Models (.fac)
Cinema 4D Models (.c4d)
Autocad Models (.dxf)I’ve never done this before, but Zaxwerks offers a free trial so you can see if this will work for you.

I can’t remember the last time I opened the Yellow Pages. I used Google this morning. I imagine a lot of people out there don’t use the Yellow pages anymore. If the Yellow Pages aren’t charging you a lot of money why not?

[Roy] Also (trying to get a 2 for 1 deal) how can I see my keyframes in the timeline mode?
At the bottom of the timeline to the left there are a bunch of buttons. 3rd one from the left is a diamond. Click on that and you will see the keyframes in the timeline. Also, you can select a layer and then select the Keyframe Editor or hit the Command and 8 keys to get an even better look at the keyframes. Hope this helps.

That sound effect came from Video Copilot’s Designer Sound FX. A great SFX library in my opinion. The two SFX I put together to make the one are from the Swishes part of the library. And they are:
1st–Torpedo

This effect is achieved by separating the image in the foreground from the background. I think it is easier to do in Photoshop because you can use the clone tool to feel in a lot of the background that is missing because you cut out the person in the foreground. So you know have an object in one layer and the background in another. Import the layered PSD. Change the Z position of the object so it has distance from the background. When you move and rotate the camera you will achieve that effect you are asking about. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I believe this might be a symptom of the DV codec. Try exporting it out in an Animation or Prores type codec.

Be sure to set your “Render Settings” Quality to Best and Resolution to Full in your Render Queue. That can kill the quality of text. Hope this helps and keep in mind DV is not a fan of text.

I used the Shape Style Preset: Liquid, Ink Dilate 01.
I recall I duplicated the video clip of myself and placed the paint stroke in-between the two clips. Made a mask on the clip on top to cover up part of the paint stroke.

I agree with what Emre and Grinner said. A lot of editors don’t have FCP certification or a degree. That doesn’t make those options bad. They can be very helpful. I feel an option C that is really good is doing an internship, where you will gain so helpful real world experience. Best of luck.
