Importing After Effects
Posted by Jimmy Stewart on February 2, 2010 at 8:54 pmhi,
i have a 720 x 480 comp (dv ntsc) in AE. when i import it into my final cut pro project (same specs as AE), the text looks rough. the animation quicktime (out of AE) however looks great. so its something with the import.
thoughts?
thanks,
jimmy

February 2, 2010 at 9:06 pmBe sure to set your “Render Settings” Quality to Best and Resolution to Full in your Render Queue. That can kill the quality of text. Hope this helps and keep in mind DV is not a fan of text.

February 2, 2010 at 9:19 pmthanks, stephan. i do have the AE renders set to “full” and “best” but it still looks ragedy when importing to FCP. i even started a new higher res project and it still looks like hell. however the quicktime itself looks great out of AE
stumped

February 2, 2010 at 9:26 pmI believe this might be a symptom of the DV codec. Try exporting it out in an Animation or Prores type codec.

Best setting and Prores.
