I think it would be best to keep each frame/panel in its own group. Be sure to name the groups so it is easier to find things when you need to make changes. If you wan the panels to be the same you can build your one group then duplicate it so it is the same, then make tweaks inside the panel as you see fit. This sounds like this is going to be a lot of fun. You’ll have to post it so we can see it when it is completed. Best of luck.

If you want to move around from panel to panel then yes, you should do it in Motion. If there are any hard cuts or something use that as an opportunity to create another project file so your project files are not to big. Those filters I mentioned are in FCP as well. However, If I built the Target add I would have built it all in Motion. Hope this helps.

To get that printed paper look I would Duplicate the clip twice so you have three, then add a Line Art filter and set the paper opacity to zero (make sure you do that to the top clip). Then add the Halftone filter to the middle clip. Set its blend mode to Overlay and adjust to your liking. Motion offers lots of ways to animate the camera. The framing behavior is really cool but have lots of fun with it.Stephen Smith

Jason is right, also, I’ve found that if once the movie clip is placed in FCP and you don’t save the project it will update the clips as well. I however don’t recommend that unless you are just bringing a complicated file into FCP to see it in real time, then to go back to Motion and make tweaks. Best of luck.

Keyframes work great for that. If you want to use a behavior to make an object Scale down and then come to a nice gentle halt, the one you are after is the “Move” behavior. Change it’s Z position (in 2D) and it will give the appearance of scaling up or down. When you want it to stop end the length of the behavior.
Check out the ring logo animation example in this commercial, this is taught in chapter 3.2 of my Moving with Motion training DVD, everything is being animated by a behavior in the video. Notice how the brown ring comes to a nice gentle stop once it scales down.
