Alright, so I saw the links in the spam response. But I also go a response in the Film History & Appreciation forum from Tim with links to a Youtube video and some embedded stills. Nothing in the response e-mail indicated that was there. Is this because I’m a forum leader in that forum and the response is set up different? I can forward you the e-mails if that helps. Thanks.

The plug-in has a free 15 day trail. Plus I think the time you spend doing it yourself will make the plug-in well worth it. I was going to do a tutorial on this but it took like forever to explain and the plug-in could do it in seconds. It needs to be done in Illustrator or some other vector art program that can save files as an .ai. You can import AI files into Motion and if set right you can maintain its vector quality.
Your Illustrator file needs to be RGB and not CMYK. Be sure to save the AI file with PDF compatibility. After you bring it into Motion, just select it, press Shift+F (takes to you the Media tab), then uncheck the Fixed Resolution checkbox. This will allow the vector image to be rasterized at whatever size it is on-screen. Hope this helps.
If you are doing Photoshop then you’ll want it to be built bigger then your working area. Don’t go bigger then 72 dpi. TV is 72 dpi so any bigger dpi will just slow down Motion and not give you any extra quality. Remember, the bigger the image the more is will play sluggishly.

Yes, it is best to uncheck the fixed resolution check box when working with Illustrator files. I would recommend changing your Project Preset from DV to Broadcast.
Go up to Edit, Project Properties. Change the Preset from NTSC DV to NTSC Broadcast DV. Also, when you export it out choose a codec like Animation or ProRes. Hope this helps and best of luck.Stephen Smith

Are you saying your mask or shape is going bad at the end or shadows from the hand are changing the color or the cracker which effects the blend mode color?

If you hit F8 your canvas goes full screen. To get out of it just hit F8 again.
