You are in luck. Use the Bezier tool and create two points. Check Outline in the Shape – Style tab. Click on the Shape Style button and choose something like Liquid, Ink Bleed 01 Heavy. Increase its Width. It can look just like an ink drop if the distance between the two points is small. For more texture duplicate it and change its opacity and make its width bigger then the top one.
Next treat the white “ink drop” as an image mask. If you have not worked with image masks check out this link to my Creating a Hologram tutorial. What you are after is in the middle of the tutorial. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Get out and film it yourself sounds like a lot of effort to me. I would not bother.
What software are you using?
I have done this many times with Compositor’s Toolkit 1 & 2. I would check out the clouds and inkdrops. It looks really cool.

NO. You can do it in Motion 4, but only with a plug-in such as ProAnimator FX from Zaxwerks You can place the 3D model in cinema 4d and then link the camera.

Check out the Transformers 3. The beginning of the film mixes historical facts with their story. They show archival footage and at one point show a few clips 4:3, with black on the sides. It worked real well and looked fantastic.

I thought you wanted it to say start at 100% and then scale down to say 60% scale and then hold at 60% scale. To do that you need to create a scale keyframe at 100. Then move down the time line to where the movement stops and create another keyframe and change the scale to 60. The scale while come to a nice stop because it defaults to a bezier curve. Hope this helps.

The grow/shrink behavior does not have an ease in ease out ability. I would recommend you use keyframes instead.

You can add a Hold Frame behavior. Or you can select your clip. Hit F1 to open up the properties tab and go down to the timing area, if you cant see it click on the timing discloser triangle. Go to End Condition and choose Hold. In the timeline hover the cursor over the end of the clip and it will change from an arrow. Click and drag to extend the clip. every thing after it is froZen. or you can change the duration in the duration option in the timing section. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Typically you try to do one of the suggestions above to get somewhat of a matte. Then if it works everywhere but the ladies head you just rotoscope her head, that way you don’t have to roto-scope everything. Motion can automatically rotoscope her head for you so you only have to build a mask on one frame and Motion does the rest. I have a chapter that covers this in my Creative COW training DVD Moving with Motion which is on sale for 19.95. It regularly sells for $50. Best of luck.
