Load the project in 10C and click on the “lightning” icon to remove unused media, then try loading in 10D.

Reread your statement. You are comparing the compression of HDV 1080i (note the *I*, as in 30i) with AVCHD 60p (note the *P*). You are compressing more data with AVCHD than with HDV which is why AVCHD needs more processing power than HDV.

AVCHD files are very compressed.

The only bulwark against the massive compression in AVCHD is sheer bone
crushing-processor power and blazing fast disk throughput.

It’s been so long since I used V8, I don’t know if my solution will work for you.
Import the text as a Photoshop PSD file with each word on a separate layer. (Import across tracks). Listen to the music and drop a market at the start of each word. Between each marker you wil one word. Animate the word (each word is on a separate track) to zoom into it a little (the “pop”). (You can ctrl-c copy the keyframe parameter of the zoom-in to make it consistent).

Also…

.net versions are not superseding. That is, if you have an application that requires .net version 2.0, and another that requires .net version 3.0, installing .net 3.0 will not satisfy the 2.0 requirements. You have to install both.

What is your end-point? A DVD, a YouTube file, a video on your website?

One overriding truism in video compression is that video quality is inversely proportional to encoded file size. You want smaller files, you will have lower quality video.

Report this to SCS. Others have had this happen recently in 10C (some say it was prior to V10), but no one can make it happen. Random bugs are the worst…
