I can’t really help you because I only use DVDA to make my DVDs and I use the MPEG templates for DVDA. The video and audio ON the DVD are MPEG2 and AC3 respectively. Vegas has a direct-to-DVD option that I’ve never used, but it also creates the MPEG2 and AC3 files. (It’s in Tools/Burn Disc/DVD). You will have to refer to what formats your DVD burning program wants. But, note that ON the DVD, you will have MPEG2 and AC3. If your DVD burning program takes something else, I guarantee that it’s transcoding to MPEG/AC3 with a possible hit on quality.
