As has been asked – wouldn’t it be easy to do this with embedded projects or track groups?

First, there’s two ways to do anything in Vegas. Often three or more. There is no “right” way as it really depends on the workflow that you are most comfortable with.
The workflow also depends on what kind of videos you will be producing. For me – I’ve never used the trimmer. (And I’ve been editing with Vegas well over ten years.) I prefer to simply drag my media to the timeline and edit there.

No, the first play can be the mpeg file. Then if you want, the end action of the media could be the menu.

I am not an audio expert, but I have heard of stems. What I don’t understand is how are stems any different from a track group? Or asked another way, how do you use dialogue stems?

A donation would bypass the OpenCandy spamware, (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Donate) I did make a donation and it did install clean. You can appreciate the visceral response to seeing spyware installed with one of our favorite programs, so for now, donate a dollar to get the ad-free version. Still, the website is unclear about the process.
Ironically, the dll that MediaInfo is based on is Open Source (https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/files/binary/libmediainfo0/0.4.0.1/MediaInfo_DLL_Win32_0.4.0.1.zip/download?use_mirror=colocrossing&download=), so any programmer could use it.

No. Well, it depends. But generally, no.
If you use a video codec that can be smart-rendered (search the help file) then it should do the final render faster. But that depends on what you are rendering to. And from, for that matter.Steve Mann

I am not aware of any NLE which uses SLI (Scalable Links Interface). I don’t see where it would be of any use since nVidia promotes SLI for 3D shading in games. Sharing other functions may reduce the overall throughput because of the overhead involved. Also, if they aren’t identical GPUs, the throughput is only as fast as the slowest one.

Search Protect spamware is spread with different free software, in most cases – it’s a pre-selected option during the program installation. Once infected, it’s really difficult to remove.
I went to the MediaInfo site (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo) because my installed copy prompted for an “available upgrade”. And even this version from the source installs a spamware program (OpenCandy) without permission.
Looks like it’s time to put MediaInfo on the DO NOT INSTALL list.
