The perfect way is to use a motion tracking plug-in like BCC7, but that costs more than Vegas.

Keyframes.

If your pan is smooth, then keyframing in the event pan-crop should do the trick.

You paste a green board over the TV screen, you shoot your foreground footage with the screen well lit. You add the Chromakey f/x to make the green turn transparent. On a lower layer you have the program you want on the TV. Use “track motion” to re-size, rotate and crop the background image into the hole in the upper track.

This is *not* 16:9 resolution.

Read the manual.

This does not copy-protect the DVD, it just tells the disc replicator to add copy-protection. In order to get copy protection you need to pay (thrhe replicator service) for a Macrovision license and royalties. About $3,000 for short-run DVD’s.

And totally worthless.

Mike, have you run DVD Identifier to find out who *really* makes discs? I haven’t done any dual-layer, but I do know that with CD’s and DVD’s the name on the box is not guaranteed to be the manufacturer.

If you want to cut a segment from a larger clip, suppose you only need a few seconds from a 2GB file. Select that region and render it to a new track.

If you have some complex compositions of F/X and transitions that you’re finished with, then render hat section to the new track to reduce the load on the processor.

Before we got Track Grouping, I would often render sections of my projects to a new track just to reduce the number of tracks. (It is not unusual for me to have 40-50 tracks in a “simple” project.).
