    Hello everyone!

I’m making a video where I want to put my own footage on a TV screen (with green screen), but as far as I can see, there seems to be no tutorial on how to green screen a partial space (such as a TV).

I’ll try to explain what I’m doing:
I’m walking from the right, next to a TV (with a green image for green screening). I want to put ANY image I want by keying out the green, etc.

Again, All I’ve seen is tutorials on how to green screen a BACKGROUND image (green screen sheet behind a person and in full frame).

    Thanks!

You paste a green board over the TV screen, you shoot your foreground footage with the screen well lit. You add the Chromakey f/x to make the green turn transparent. On a lower layer you have the program you want on the TV. Use “track motion” to re-size, rotate and crop the background image into the hole in the upper track.

Hi ….is there much camera movement involved? If not i’d say masking would work better in post production and save you the hassle of putting green on the actual screen. Unless you’re lighting it very well there is the risk of a green tinge at the sides of the TV frame.

    Thanks!

Now a second question: is it possible for Sony Vegas to track one image and move another accordingly? Like, I’m panning to the side, passing the TV with an image. Can I have Vegas move the TV image WITH the green screen that’s on the TV?

    Thanks!

    Keyframes.

If your pan is smooth, then keyframing in the event pan-crop should do the trick.

What if my pan isn’t smooth? Is there a way?

The perfect way is to use a motion tracking plug-in like BCC7, but that costs more than Vegas.
