I’ve noticed several times that when I start a new project (today’s was just after capturing SD footage from DV tape), the audio sync is w-a-y off from picture, like probably 5 to 10 frames delayed. But then, many times (if not all), everything’s fine if I close the project and then open it again.

Is this typical and, if not, what might be going on?

    Thanks,

Nope. Not normal. How are you capturing?

I had this problem too, I assume it’s a Vegas bug under certain conditions.

I eventually figured out how to fix it for me, hope this method works for you:

In Sony Vegas go to “Options“>”Preferences…“>”Audio Device“> and untick the box “Automatically detect and offset for hardware recording latency“.

Apply that and see if it works.

    Luke.
