Roger, I’ve never seen that. Make sure you have hit files in
C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc\Sound Files HitsYou could also just call SmartSound. Their support was relatively fast the one time I had a question.

Tried it, and yes, there they are (the markers). No need to transfer the video, just name the markers and they show up on the SonicFire timeline.
I wonder what other surprises are in there if I just read a bit more…..
I gotta wonder if this extension is a trial balloon to see if there is any interest in the Vegas community to possibly fully integrate SF as a plug-in.

OK, I bought it.
It does save me some time, but not a lot. I’m not sure it was worth $50.
What’s good: It opens in Express Tracks which lets me select the music I want to customize into my project, with the duration already set. After modifying the mood, tempo, etc, clicking on “Send” adds a new audio track to the Vegas timeline. (Every edit in SonicFire makes a new track in the Vegas timeline). If I click on “Insert”, it opens a track on the SonicFire Pro timeline where I can change moods and add hits as needed.
What’s missing: This would make the product worth $50 hands down- I still have to manually copy the video from my Vegas timeline selection into the SonicFire timeline if I want to sync hits or mood changes to whatever is happening on the video.
What’s REALLY missing: It’s a script, not a plug-in. A truly integrated SonicFire plug-in would be a winner.

Not with a slider, but with a timeline (on the Sonicfire Pro timeline) marker. I also like the ability to add hits, like a cymbal crash when the diver hits the water. If you are using a multi-track album (I think that’s all Smartsound products today), you have pretty much an infinite range of modifications.

… but that’s an example of how silly this whole Blu-ray licensing things has become.
You would think they would have learned from the real-world of CD’s and DVDs. If I can see it (hear it), I can copy it. The Blu-Ray encryption was sold as absolutely unbreakable, and even if it was, broken encryption could be modified through a database update on the newer BD discs themselves. Ever wonder why it takes so long for a BD player to start a new disc? The player is updating its’ database of encryption keys.
It took only a month for the BD encryption to be cracked. Again, by a kid (like the CSS crack on DVDs).
Yet, they persist, thinking they are somehow preventing pirating.

I have absolutely no clue what you are asking for help on. We don’t all have 4K monitors to see what you are doing – All I see is a bunch of blurry windows opening, closing, cursor moving about, random clicks on menu items every half-second.
If there is a question in that, I certainly missed it.

That zoom was done in the camera so the edit didn’t compromise the original resolution. When you zoom in on the timeline, you are throwing away video data.
I’m not sure why the i7 Mobile processor would be any slower than a desktop, except that in a laptop the processor will get very hot. The CPU will slow down to cool itself off. But I would not use a laptop for editing (just a personal preference).

What’s puberty (Tanner Rate) got to do with data storage?
Anyway, as I said, I edit locally and archive on external drives. In the case of updates, I just edit off the external drive.Grainy? Only if you are using digital zoom or zooming in with Track Zoom or event pan-crop.

You’re looking at the wrong end of the equation. Your disk storage can be rated at 1Tb per second, but if the NLE doesn’t need more than 25MB/s – it’s wasted capacity.
I edit HDV multicamera footage on external USB2 drives, and there’s no problems.
That said, if you ever plan to edit 4K or RAW formats, you will need the higher speeds.
