The update is not replacing anything. When you update, Sony is selling a new license to use the new version you are buying. Your older licenses are completely legal to keep on using, or even sell or give away to someone else.
I just gave my brother my Version 9 license and faxed the information to Sony. When my brother installs Version 9 and registers it, as far as Sony is concerned, he is the licensee. The only restriction is that the Version 9 serial number that I transferred to him can not be used for a future upgrade because it was already used for my upgrade to Version 11.

Keep the troubleshooting simple. Don’t use the scripts, just “Render As” one selection.

The white areas appear, according to the shadows, to be near the light source. Without seeing a histogram, I would bet that the images look overexposed because they *are* overexposed. There’s no image data in those white zones, so no amount of fiddling with the curves of intensity settings will recover anything.
Don’t use spot or center-weighted auto exposure.

Unless you have calibrated the displays, you cannot make an accurate A=B comparison. Try plugging the desktop display into the laptop and compare it to the laptop monitor. I’ll bet they won’t match there either.

Is your server up to a continuous 8Mbps? Is your internet connection to your ISP capable of a continuous 8Mbps?
Video from a streaming server service like Vimeo and Youtube use a dynamic bitrate to adjust to the viewer’s capabilities.

In my experience, “stuck at 0%” usually means that the output or temp files could not be opened.

I am still not seeing it on the preview, and I think I see it in the VLC image, but your arrow points to a blank part of the screen.
I think you will need to find someone else with the DJ product to duplicate your problem. I am not saying that DJ *didn’t* screw up the MOV file, (it wouldn’t be the first time) but I think you are throwing the needle into the haystack in your examples.
Can you use Juicer to export the background mov file only, then drop it alone into a Vegas project – does this show the remnants of the “Main Title” text?

Since your preview and VLC images are not of the same frame, it’s impossible to make an A-B comparison.
I don’t see any text in the preview window. If anything the preview is cleaner than the VLC image, but that could be because they are of different frames.
Since I don’t have the product, I don’t know what your finished project *should* look like. I am just seeing one frame from one track, and if there is some residual text there, I don’t see it.
