No evidence – yet.
When apple updates QuickTime, they only test within their own universe and to hell with everyone else. Other NLE programs get caught with similar issues when Apple ups a rev.
How about posting a few seconds of the iPhone video for everyone else to test?

You can’t do it in Vegas alone, but you could probably replicate a lot of that in the BCC8 plug-in.

If the whites are completely blown out, then there is no video data there to recover.

The problem comes when a program wants to call a function in the driver – and the same function exists in both drivers. Which does it use? (Not all driver functions are specific hardware related. You have audio functions in your nVidia drivers, but nVidia doesn’t make an audio board).

We thought this bug had been fixed in Version 11. Please report it to SCS Support, but since it eluded them for three versions (unable to replicate the problem – if they can’t see the problem, they can’t fix it), don’t expect them to fix it fast.
Back up your veg file often, and use “save as” to change the filename. “project-01.veg, then project-02.veg.” for example.

On one of my editing workstations, I run my third monitor with a USB to DVI adapter. They run about $60 and they are designed to add displays to laptops. However, the USB/DVI adapter has no processor or RAM and uses your computer processor and steals some system RAM, so don’t plan on using it to display video. I use it to show my Project Properties, Explorer and other relatively static Vegas windows.

Wow, Tyson – can you make it any more (unnecessarily) complicated?
I put almost all of my projects on external drives in USB docking stations. I can’t count on them ever being assigned the same drive letter by DOS on every computer when I plug it in.
Just put this batch file on your external drive. By running this batch file, the external drive will always be drive “B:” (You can change the target drive letter by editing the .bat file).
