What is this? I’ve got a project with footage from different days of shooting in several folders. I had been cutting it over the last few days and just added more stuff tonight, and now it’s completely changing the video I’ve cut for at least three events. When I right click the event and check the properties the file name is as it should be, yet the video isn’t. And when I click on “Select in Project Media List”, it’s not that same file that it’s named, but a different one, and it shouldn’t be.

It’s all AVCHD video with some jpg pictures. Right now two of the events are being replaced with the same jpg file, and the third is replaced with a seemingly random video file but from the same project.

It’s not crucial to have those shots, but what gives? Is there a fix? Opening and closing the project isn’t working.

We thought this bug had been fixed in Version 11. Please report it to SCS Support, but since it eluded them for three versions (unable to replicate the problem – if they can’t see the problem, they can’t fix it), don’t expect them to fix it fast.

Back up your veg file often, and use “save as” to change the filename. “project-01.veg, then project-02.veg.” for example.

Will do. I also noticed that in my rendered video, one shot stutters, though it hasn’t on a previous render I did for a different format, and on the timeline it previews smoothly. Thanks.

You will probably notice that if you do not shutdown your PC or mount/dismount drives, your project will not have this problem. Saving them as different version veg files made no difference in my case.

I had this issue in version 10c onwards and don’t restart my PC or swap in/out drives until the project is done. A silly workaround, but it works.

I’d have to leave my PC on for days at a time in this case. I’d rather take my chances and just tell Sony to fix it. And in 7-9 months, they’ll be on the case.
