April 22, 2012 at 4:47 pm in reply to: 6 hours of work will be lost – Promote Media Markers script stopped working[Aleksey Tarasov] “In most cases this is true, but there are file formats (eg. mp4, mp3, wmv) that store media markers as metadata inside the media file.”
But, Vegas does not write metadata to the media file. Vegas does not touch the media.

It is a completely non-destructive editor. All markers and other metadata are stored in the .sfk and .sfl files, and all editing instructions are in the .veg file. You can safely delete the .sfk and .sfl files after you close the project and Vegas will re-build them, but it needs these files in order to operate properly.

April 22, 2012 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Creating Lower Thirds in Photoshop to import into SVP 11I thought of another.
I use Videotagger for my credit rolls and it makes a white text on a black background. No alpha. When I want the end of the video to show under the credit roll, I just use the Vegas chromakey to key out the black.Steve Mann

Do a save-as to a new filename, then open that new veg file in another instance of Vegas.Steve Mann

April 22, 2012 at 2:20 am in reply to: Creating Lower Thirds in Photoshop to import into SVP 11I am pretty sure that MP4 does not support an alpha channel. Export it from Photoshop into a series of PNG files then import that into Vegas as an image sequence.

I am not following your workflow. Give me a step-by-step so that I can try to reproduce it here.
When you click on “Render As” is “Dolby Digital” not there?

If clicking the lightning icon in the Media window doesn’t remove some media, then the media is being used somewhere in your project. All media in the Project Media list, used or not, will be copied when you “Save As” with the “Copy Media” option selected.
You can right-click on the media name in the Project Media window, then click on “Select Timeline Events”. The selected media is then highlighted on the timeline.

April 19, 2012 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Annoying thin black lines when using Zoom transitionI’m not sure what is crashing the post, but here it is again…
Can you put together a project with all the media assets under 2GB? I would be happy to try to reproduce it here. Just put it in a public folder in your Dropbox. I use Dropbox to make files available to others and posting files on a forum is just not reliable nor feasible.
Use this link (href=’https://db.tt/KCWoOts) to get your free 2GB Dropbox and we both get an additional 500MB.
Just put the file into the /Public folder, right click on the file, and select Dropbox in the drop-down menu and click on “Copy Public Link”. You can safely share that link with anyone.
