I have never had good results with double-layer DVD’s. Sometimes they play, sometimes they don’t. It’s just the risk of burned DL disks.

If your motherboard supports EFI, then there is no reason why Vegas won’t install to it.

Only one hard drive?? You want two drives. Put the OS and Vegas on a 1Tb drive (C) and all of your projects and media files on the second drive. (Not a separate partition of the one hard drive – you gain nothing).
I can’t help you with the GPU since I replaced my last Radeon card months ago. (Last, being the operative word).

That should not affect the Resource Monitor.

Um, that was in Windows XP.
But clearing the font and icon caches once in a while can help with other unrelated problems. Windows will just rebuild them as it needs them.

If the few Mb of virus data is a problem, then you seriously need a bigger hard disk.
Seriously paranoid people run multiple virus scanners, which is an opportunity for other stability problems.
The best protection is to not plug your editing PC into the web. Use a cheap second PC for your email, web browsing and other general work.

August 1, 2012 at 6:32 pm in reply to: Vegas 11 Hangs on Initializing External MonitorsThe next time it hangs, open “Resource Monitor” from the Windows Start Menu.
In the Overview tab, are any of the items red?
Find the Vegas process (vegas110.exe) and right click on it to determine what driver or other process is hanging it up.
