This came up a few years ago, but a forum search comes up empty. Basically I recall that it’s a limit of the size of the thumbnail buffer, but I am not aware of any preferences changes you can make to get more thumbnail buffer memory. You should ask Sony Tech Support.
I suspect that the thumbnail buffer size is hard-coded and was set when a 1K wide display was the top of the line. (Just like Bill Gates once saying that 64K should be enough RAM for PC’s.)

That would be an awfully long list….
Not to knock the Vegas and DVDA manuals, but with almost everything Vegas, there is usually two, three or more ways to accomplish anything.I did, a long time ago, have a long list of Vegas tips – I guess I should resurrect it and bring it up to date.

I got your WAV file from the Zoom and it plays fine in both Version 11 and 12 here.
I am still inclined to think this is a codec problem. Here’s an article from Adobe that does offer a good general codec troubleshooting guide.
You can see what codecs are installed on Windows by typing MSINFO from start/Run, drill down to Components/Multimedia/Audio codecs. Curiously, there is no wav codec listed on my system
