You must have a gradient under the resulting banding?

colliding patterns? The rippling you’re speaking of, does it include two patterns (ie vertical lines and angular lines)? Is it specific to the footage or does it do the ‘wave’ all the time when you use the optical flow filter?

Do you mean intersect in the same way as is described in the Boris tutorials located in the Boris reference guide? Passing through each other?

Sound’s like you’re looking for the “Ripple Filter”. Check you filter manual under help in Red and search the PDF for ripple filter.

    take care..

Intelligent Assistant can be installed from the 3.01 disk without loading Boris’ executable. Intelligent Assistant and Windows is a match made in hell (as you know) because I.A. is ported from MAC OS9.

    A couple of things.

You can delete the ini file and restart the program. It may help. I can’t remember what the name of the ini file is off the top of my head and I’m not in front of a workstation. Maybe another user can post the correct name before I get around to it.

The second thing that’s caused me issues in the past is the OpenGL setting. Run the OpenGL test in the preferences and then test with the software rendering to see if it helps at all.

The last thing would be to reinstall..

The only book I’m aware of is by Chris Vadnais

    Instant Boris Effects

  • Is the guy in the shot in motion? If so then you’ll have to create a rotoscope mask and then use your fire effect in conjunction with the mask. We once had a guy sitting in an electric chair and once the switch was flipped he caught on fire for a split second. This was relatively easy because he was bound to the chair, but a moving object will take some extra effort to mask it correctly.

As far as your help is concerned, you should reinstall from the CDrom.
