Todd won’t that be rather slow? Shouldn’t he try and get a dedicated graphics card. The graphics card on that spec will take ram from the central CPU rather than using it’s own dedicated ram.

You will probably get a lot better for you money. I have a T6600 dual 2 core with 4gigs ram and a ati radeon HD 4570 (albeit with a 15inch screen) and cost me just shy of £500.

Thanks for advice. On another issue I note AE requires 1280×900. I don’t think my laptop will support it. Can I not just use 1280×960 or 1368×768 or will it nit work?

Would a 15.6 inch screen be ok for after effects? With the resolution set to the right size? Concerned I don’t waste my money but a 17.3 inch screen with the right hardware will set me back another £200
