Did you set up your serial adapter in the Network preferences before launching Media 100? From memory you have to do this before Media 100 will recognise the keyspan device.
To do this go to the Apple Menu and select “System Preferences” and then click on the “Network” tab. When you are in the Network tab go to the “Show” drop down menu and select “Network Port Configurations”. If your keyspan drivers are installed correctly you should see your serial adapter in the menu list. Turn the port on and hit “Apply Now” to save the changes.
Next time you launch Media 100, you should see the Keyspan device in the deck contol settings.

Hi John,
As far as i know our post audio engineer has always been able to adjust the handles on any clips that we have sent to him using either version of the OMF plug ins. I was under the impression, that the entire source media for an audio clip was exported so it could be adjusted if neccessary.

Hi Elliot,
We are currently using an Apple 23″ LCD display on our Media 100HD system, but we are connecting it via an AJA HD SDI to DVI-D converter.
We only use this as a client viewing monitor but the images look great. We use our Sony PVM for any critical viewing! The only issue we have with the apple LCD is when the system is in digitize mode, the vision is not very clean and often breaks up. However, if you play that same media back after capture it looks fine.
It would be great to know if anyone out there is using the HD VGA output directly from the Media 100HD card to an apple display, and what sort of picture quality they are getting. It would also be interesting to see if there were any differences in quality between the HD VGA output and converting from HD SDI – DVI-D via the AJA adapter.
Can anyone comment on these?

Hi Elliot,
We have OMF plug ins running on both our media 100i & media 100HD systems, and we have never had a problem with either of them.
We export all of our audio for post using the “export OMF for Pro Tools” setting, and our Audio engineer has always been able to work with them.
The OMF plug in we have for media 100HD is made by diaquest.

We have a similar problem with our Media 100 HD system when mastering to Sony VTR’s, but we get an extra frame added to the edit point.
I have copied below a link to an earlier discussion of this issue where Floh offers a few ideas to get around this problem. You may have more luck then we did with it!

It would be great if you could let me know if you find a solution to this problem.

June 2, 2006 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Media 100HD – 10bit Uncompressed to MPEG-2 HD File?Hi Michael,
1.5TB seems a lot for only 16 mins of uncompressed HD.
We have been capturing uncompressed 1080i into Media 100 HD at approx 500GB per hour. Bearing this in mind i would estimate you would be looking at approx 125-150GB for your 16 minute show, which should fit onto a portable hard drive for delivery to your client.
Hope this helps

Hi Elliot,
It may be worth double checking with your Media 100 supplier regarding the OMF export option for Media 100 HD.
We have the option with our HD system and it has been working perfectly for the last couple of months now. I think the company who wrote the software are called Diaquest, but your local Media 100 re seller should know more about it.

Thanks for your suggestion Floh,
Sorry for the delay in response, but we currently don’t own a Sony HDCAM VTR so i haven’t been able to try your idea on my system until now. Unfortunately changing the “Digitize Frame Offset” in the “Deck Specific options” did not resolve the issue we are having, but it did help me to figure out what is going on……..
I did some testing today with Media 100 HD 10.1.4 and a rental Sony HDWM2000P and it looks like whenever i go to insert or assemble edit, Media 100 HD is duplicating the 1st frame that is to be recorded. So the 1st edit is in the correct time code position, but because it is a duplicate, the remaining shots are all 1 frame out. This 1 frame duplicate really sticks out when the shot being inserted has any sort of movement in it.
Have anyone noticed anything similar with their Media 100 HD systems??
Cheers
