Thanks for all your replies! The solution is simple. It’s what Steve says about resolution. After Effect, and Photoshop, aren’t very good at rendering out text in 16:9 preview mode. It looks good in rendered files. The problem is the aspect ratio in preview mode.

    April 3, 2008 at 9:24 pm in reply to: 3D bend/bulge in AE CS3

Thanks for your replies! It’s a pitty that AE (still) doesn’t support some kind of “real”, beveled 3D, in stead of flat layers in 3D space… But thanks! I guess this will help me out.

Yeah that works. But I was wondering if there is a way to set is up before you start to move. Sometimes I forget to select the underlying layers… Well, maybe this is the only way to get around this…

I have the same problem, but Flip4Mac is installed properly! Maybe I found de key… I didn’t enter/purchase a valid serial number. So, maybe Flip4Mac locks the render to the first 50%? Gonna check it out. Let you know.

The comp that I use as watermap was only animated with the mesh warp to create a weave effect. Now I also animated the evolution of the fractal noise, used in the watermap to create riples. But the problem is still there….

January 6, 2008 at 1:25 pm in reply to: problem with 3d layers in 3d comp

    It doesn’t work…
This is my original setup: three solids in one comp. The solids have an X rotation of 90 degrees (3D layers). So they are flipped horizontally. The solids are pre-comped and the comp has an X rotation of 100 degrees (3D comp). The four corners are pinned to the thumbs and index fingers with corner pin (also tried CC Power Pin, but gives the same result). The three solids still look like they don’t stand up straight but point to some direction up in the imaginairy sky…
What can I do to fix this and get the solids to stand up straight??
