  • I never said I’d stop developing them, I’m just sick of the business end of things 🙂

    So if anything goes wrong or there are features you’d like to see implemented, let me know! I’ll definitely still work on the plugins as a hobby, mainly because I use them in my own work and there’s always the need for a little fix or update here and there.

    The plug-in itself doesn’t help you obtain the normal-map from a 3D program. With the number of programs on the market today, that simply isn’t feasible.
    However, it’s quite easy to get the normal maps yourself. Many programs like Cinema 4D for example actually have features to export them, in others like Maya and 3ds max it’s just a matter of selected a normal map shader and hitting render.

    Then all you need to do is import in AE and your ready to light!

    Try to get ahold of Pixar’s Finding Nemo DVD, they have a nice making of on there in which they speak about creating all sorts of underwater effects. Nothing too technical, but it might give you some ideas!
