For personal reasons I’ve decided to make my After Effects plugins Normality and Reality available free for use in non-commercial and commercial projects.
The software is production proven and has been used on several high-end productions, including the Paraworld and Frontlines: Fuel of War trailers by Studio Pendulum.

These plugins allow interactive relighting within the familiar AE environment. To work, they require a normal pass, which is simple to render in any modern 3D program. Then all you need to do is add a light source in AE and there you go: Instant (re)lighting!

Of course, you can move the lights around in 3D space, change color, intensity and a slew of other parameters to achieve the look you want.

    Included effects:
    – Diffuse Light
    – Specular Highlights
    – Reflections
    – Refractions
    – Bump/Normal Mapping

Enough talk, on to the download! Normality and Reality are available from my website https://www.minning.de

Oh, too bad. I guess this means we won’t be seeing much development in the future. Anyway, much appreciated (though I still barely use Normality). Maybe the day will come and I’ll do something great with your tools. Many thanks and good luck on whatever you pursue next.

I never said I’d stop developing them, I’m just sick of the business end of things 🙂

So if anything goes wrong or there are features you’d like to see implemented, let me know! I’ll definitely still work on the plugins as a hobby, mainly because I use them in my own work and there’s always the need for a little fix or update here and there.

    Cheers!
    Stefan

Ah, I see. Good to know you’ll keep working on them so at least compatibility with future versions of AE will be maintained.
