  • Thank you, Dave! I saved it to Illustrator CS 2 and AE 6.5 imported it in layers.

    Hey Noah,

Thank you for the response. How do I specify/choose the build location though?

  • Thanks for sharing that. It helps to know that someone has experienced the same issue.

  • I have tried that, but unfortunately it does the same thing whether or not that option is checked.

I actually had never heard about HDV SD60P either, but that’s what shows up on the LCD screen when I view the tape in JVC HDV 100 which was the camera used to shoot the footage. Unfortunately, someone else shot the footage and I just need to edit this.

Are you saying that this is not even an HDV format? I tried to capture using DV settings but FCP alerted that in order to capture HDV footage, the settings has to be HDV.

    Any further idea?

  • The drive I am capturing to was formatted specifically for Mac and not FAT32. Any idea?

  • Each footage was captured using the camera which was used to videotape them. The JVC footage was captured with the JVC HDV camera. The Sony footage was captured with the Sony HDV camera.

  • Yes, JVC HDV 100. It also happens to the tapes which was used in Sony HDV, though.

  • Hi Mike,

I am actually having a problem/question somewhat related with your subject, and I am desperately in need of some help.

I captured HDV footage with a JVC HDV deck. The deck did not allow me to capture with the way I usually capture with a JVC camera. Basically, I had to control the deck locally (manually) and could only do “capture now”. I had to select HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec instead of HDV in the audio/video settings. Otherwise, the deck will not capture the footage even though Final Cut recognizes the deck.

Now that I have all the footage in my hard drive and start editing, when I drop the video into the timeline, the video turns into a solid green or solid black. I am completely sure that I set the sequence correctly for HDV editing. What did I miss?

I would very appreciate your advice. Thank you.
