April 24, 2013 at 2:42 am in reply to: SD DVD Content on to Bluray Master in SD Adobe EncoreWhile you can drag a vob into Encore, it is not a supported filetype. And in a quick test, I got odd results.
I really don’t know, but I don’t think Encore will put the vob onto the disk without processing; the build process involves it muxing, so it needs to transcode to have demuxed assets.
You can put SD onto BD, but it is usually done using regular assets (m2v/wav or ac3).

DVD is 720×480. (Let’s assume NTSC; for our purpose the point is essentially the same for PAL).
Played in its native resolution, it is a relatively small part of most modern computer monitors. You are wanting it to look good when blown up to a size much larger. It will look better on a larger TV, because most modern DVD/Bluray players use hardware to uprez the image.
The more compressed the material to get it to fit on the DVD, the less likely it will look good full screen on the computer.
If you only want to watch it on the computer, you can export from Encore as flash.

Many users probably don’t realize you can use the selections to limit errors/warnings when they have many.

[Delbert Young] ” uncheck “Title Remote” in above list.”
That does not remove the error; it just stops you from seeing that it is a potential issue.
With this issue, it can be ignore as I described above, but your strategy could be used to prevent seeing other issues (e.g. for examnple “button links”) and it would also remove the notice of an error.

You cannot do what you are trying to do in Encore using the Encore process for video thumbnails. This creates the motion background from any motion background for the menu plus the timeline segments.
You can avoid the white by setting a different poster frame for each chapter. What plays in the button is from the chapter’s poster frame for the amount of time specified for
animated buttons in that menu. You can do what you want creating the full motion in After Effects or similar. But not using the Encore process.

Yes, generally you can ignore this message and no one will notice. But some users want something to happen when they press “menu” or “title” on the remote. And how you set this up will make them happy, or not! Just experiment some time. Put one of your disks in a DVD player, and press various buttons.

I regularly animate buttons; never had a menu disappear. Is the menu also animated? Have you rendered the menu?
