Probably the same world as you live in. But aparently in a small small corner with a lower threshold for failure and buggy software.

Bug fixes _should_ be out as soon as possible. Not as a “whole package”.

Well. Yes. I am a NLE user. And have been for some years. But this is the only time i have had a program that’s so buggy that it don’t work for me at all.

I also use Premiere Pro, so it’s not a big deal but i’m one (of the few?) that really love FCPX and would like it to work as expected.

I’m a member of a couple of user groups, and i’m reading sites like this more than once a day.

But in my world; six weeks are a “long time” to have between bug fixes.

September 27, 2011 at 12:33 am in reply to: FCP7 XML to FCPX XML import???

I’m working on a online FCP7 <-> FCPX XML converter, but the XML was a bit more complicated than i first thought so i might take some time.

The dev. version i work on “kind of works” but the generated (converted) XML are not good enough yet.

The way it works are simply that “user” uploads the XML from FCP7 or FCPX and gets a download dialog for the new XML file. I hope i can have it finished an online during this week.

I’m sorry. I can’t reproduce the problem on this machine. Just tried a 20+ minute video clip and added 50 photos from iPhoto placed in different ways and timecodes on different time lines. But it rendered just fine.

Sorry i don’t have any solution for you.

I’m baffeled. I have tried to reproduce the problem myself without any luck.

Where are the photos? Are they on the primary storyline? Or mixed around? Do the same happens if you make a new project with _only_ one video clip and one photo?

Can this be reproduced in any way? If you start a new project and mix video and photos? What happens if you create a new project and copy everything from the old one?

Are you talking about something like the “earthquake” effect in FCPX? If not; the answer are probably “yes”. It’s more than lightly possible to “do that” in Motion.

I use “Duplicate Project”. And i use it often. Probably not what you are looking for but there is (as far as i know) not any other option.

My “projects” are stored folder-based as well.

    + Client Name
    + Project Name
    + 2011-10-11 10:02:07
    + 2011-10-10 11:02:07

And of course with a lot of notes.
