I think I’ve discovered the problem. On the QT it is FPS 25, Size 1440×1080, format H.264

I recently edited on HD format. This project is regular DV. Even though I changed my video and audio formats back to DV from HD, the sequence is set up for HD 1440×1080, but the media is 720×480.

Thank you so much for advice. I’ll try that. It will be wonderful to have have to ingest and start from the beginning.

I think I see a problem. Before I captured this video I had the sequence presets set to DV NTSC 48kHx 23.98 (720×480).
However, as I look at my sequence settings for this particular project it is:
    frame size HD 1440×1080 16:9
    Pixel HD 1440×1080
    Quicktime video setting HDV 1080i50.
My item properties for the sequence is Video rate 25 fps, frame size 1440×1080, compressor NTSC
    however, my media isn’t HD… it’s 29.97 fps, 720×480 frame size.
I recently editing something that I’d shot on a new Canon HDV camera and had changed the video/audio settings for HD. When I went back to my regular Canon XL1s video, I changed the video/audio settings back to my previous settings. Obviously it didn’t change my sequence settings or item properties.
Does this mean I’ve got to start all over… re-capture, etc.?
    Thanks,
    Gayle

It doesn’t have anything about PAL. It just lists Quicktime movie 1.56 GB.

That’s the thing that has me scratching my head. When I looked at my system preferences they were as follows:

    Sequence preset – DV NTSC 48 kHz – 23.98
    Device Control – Firewire NTSC
Capture preset – DV NTSC 48 kHz

When I look at the quicktime file there is no mention of PAL. Same goes for the compressed file I did.

I’m stressed that I’ll have to edit the whole thing over again. My client is expecting it Monday or Tuesday. And if I have to do it all over again, what do I change my presets to so it doesn’t happen again?

    Thanks!

I’m sorry I didn’t make this clear in original posting. I don’t want it in a PAL format. I’ve always worked in NTSC and I have never had the need to use PAL. So I’m scratching my head as to why all of the sudden my export from Final Cut is in a PAL format. There is no indication it’s in PAL until I attempt to import it into DVD Studio Pro.

My Compressor Version is 1.2.1, and I can’t find the web download option you mentioned. Do I need to upgrade my Compressor? Or is there a way to do it on the current version I have.
    Thanks

    Walter,
Thank you so much for responding to my question. Excuse me for my ignorance, but I’m not sure how to do what you are suggesting. When I export my video out of FCP Using the Compressor it sends me right to a Batch window where there are several mpeg-2 and mpeg-4 choices. When I clicked on mpeg-4 NTSC Source Material (which is the only one which seemed to be what would work for me) it gives me the following options:
mpeg-4 Basic NTSC for modem streaming, mpeg-4 Improved NTSC for CD, Improved for Fast Cable Streaming, Improved Large Progressive and Improved Small Progressive.
It does not give me a Quicktime 7 Download 300kbps setting to use.
How is it that I get there from FCP?
