My works involves lots of Chroma keyeing & color correction. For that reason I think 4:2:2 color sampling would be better.

    Hey Noah

I thought AJ-SDX900 could shoot only DVCPRO50. Can it shoot DVCPRO HD as well?

Sorry if i confused you but i am myself very confused!

See my major concern is that i want to get a camera that could give me SD footage with 4:2:2 color sampling. And DVCPRO50 offers this color sampling. Right?

Now my question is that besides AJ-SDX900 what other SD formats & cameras can give me 4:2:2 color sampling?

    Hey Jeremy

    Happy new year!

What i don’t get is that if DV, DVCAM, HDV & XDCAM are all 8 bit video formats then why the heck so many industry people are still using them? I understand affordability could be an issue but could there be another reason?

After all there is not much you can do with 8 bit video, right?

    Thanx Jeremy!

    ‘Decompressing’ is new to me!

So if i want to do some chroma keying to my DV footage i guess i will be better off in 10 bit. Right?

And if i understand it right, in order to decompress we have to use

Either Analong or SDI out of the dv deck => AJA IO Hd => MAC

Hope I am somewhere near if not AT the target!

    The plug-in problem is gone…..

But the startup issue is still there even after trashing the preferences.

    Shane

I tried going into the library but i can’t find all the plug-ins there…. there are just a couple of them there…. and if it makes it any easier the ones i am missing are the Fx factory plug-ins…

As far as the startup issue is concerned….. i am not opening the project straightaway…. everytime FCP starts it opens a brand new project….i then open the one i want to work on and it does’nt take all that long to open the existing projects.

    Ok

So i somehow got it to work but now i have another problem. Everytime there is a change in the shot capturing stops and a message says….

“Capture was stopped due to a problem with incoming stream. This might be a problem with the tape. All media upto this point has been preserved. ”

I used a brand new tape… can’t be a problem with the tape.
