FCP startup issue and more….
I have been working with Final Cut Studio 2 for almost a year now.
System Configuration is
2 X 2.8 Ghz Quad-core Intel Xeon with 4Gb of Ram.
I have got two questions….
1) Few months back i installed some third party plug-ins for FCP which were just demo versions… they don’t work anymore but still show in my filters folder… is there a way to get rid of them?
2) Off late FCP has been taking a long time to startup…. like 2-3 minutes… any clues why is it doing so?

1> Go into the HD>LIBRARY>APPLICAITION SUPPORT>FINAL CUT PRO SUPPORT>PLUGINS and remove the demos.
2> That can be any NUMBER of things. RT profiling, Fibre Channel card networking check, plugins installed, size of the project (this is a BIG factor…large projects take time to load)…

2) Do you have a late of still or nests in your project? Please give more details about what is in your project.

I tried going into the library but i can’t find all the plug-ins there…. there are just a couple of them there…. and if it makes it any easier the ones i am missing are the Fx factory plug-ins…
As far as the startup issue is concerned….. i am not opening the project straightaway…. everytime FCP starts it opens a brand new project….i then open the one i want to work on and it does’nt take all that long to open the existing projects.

Ahhh….FX Factory keeps track of those in the FX FActory application…in the APPS folder. Open that and delete them in there. FX Plug plugins are also kept somewhere else. HD>Library>Plugins>FXPLUG.
Trash your preferences…for the long time open issue.

The plug-in problem is gone…..
But the startup issue is still there even after trashing the preferences.

Try running from “DiskWarrior”, it is the best app for fixing the directories.
