The big plus C4D has over Maya (imo) is that you do not need in depth teaching to start producing animations. By this I mean classroom teaching. I have been able to improve my animations whilst still delivering on projects (with the help of this forum and CBT).

Whilst I doubt many people will disagree that Maya is used more prominently in the bigger VFX studios, C4D is hot on its heals with great modules like Body Paint and Mograph.

Who knows, if Maxon keep pumping out quality improvements (like those seen in R11), C4D may soon be the 3D industry standard?

    Muchos! grazias. Worked a treat!

  • Just to inform those who may encounter this problem. It occurred to the refresh rate settings within net render itself. I had somehow set mine to 1 second which made it impossible to define job names, unless you could type like superman!!

The problem was attributed to the order within which the two programs (quicktime and cinema 4d) were installed.

If you have this issue simply uninstall cinema 4d and then re-install.

It will magically make quicktime options appear again.

It may only be an issue to those running x64, like myself.

I have a boxx but i don’t want to build my scenes in windows. I want to build them on a mac and then send them to be rendered on boston render node running windows.

If i intsall c4d r11 on my mac and install net render on the boston render node running windows will i have any issues, or can the node just pump out the scene despite the fact that the scene was built using OSX?

I hope this makes the issue a little clearer.

Still no joy. Could it be that c4d was installed before quicktime?

or is there some way to ask c4d to look for new codecs?

The problem is under the format options quicktime is not displayed. The only video option is avi movie.

Is there something else i need to do from a codec point of view to make quicktime appear as an option?

Apologies if I was incorrect in my assertion. However, it did appear a little contrived when I read it.
