Never mind, i finally figured it out! 🙂

For those who are also experiencing the same problem, what i did was:

    1) Created three different text layers + Element 3D layer.
    2) Under custom layers, assigned each of the text to its respective path.
    3) Crt + D ( 3 times).
    4) Under extruction Model, assigned “Text 1” to group 1. “Text 2” to group 2. etc.
    5) Changed the custom paths to what ever the groups they are in.
    6) To change the text individually, go to one of the groups that the text is in and simply animate it.

Damn, took months to figure this out. 🙂

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. I have created 3 different extrusions but they are overlapping each other.
How do i animate it? For example, how do i adjust the opacity for each of the 3 texts? In addition, Element 3D V1.6 doesn’t seem to have the auxiliary option.

I have also followed the instructions from the last post in this thread.

    Thank you.

  • Turning “invisible” on seemed to work abit. However, everything is invisible in the final render…. Does anyone have any ideas? There should be a way..

Wow, although this thread is old, it’s still useful. Spent half a year figuring out why the textures of my planet are not even visible.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for my late reply. “Mix textures” is already turned on, but it doesn’t work. Loading a bitmap into the bump slot works abit. However, adding a vraylight and hdri environment eliminated part of the problem, which gives the metallic look. However, with the vraylight turned on, i can’t seem to render it in alpha channel.

If it doesn’t work, i am willing to send my project 🙂

  • Anyone? 🙂

Ok,i have set After to “repeat” for a different character’s animation and played around with it for a while, working really fine.

However, for this specific model, although i have set it to “off-set repeat” it still didn’t work. i think it’s because i need to know the full walk cycle of my character whether the walk cycle finishes/ ends at a specific frame. Perhaps, that is the problem.

Please click on the file below and make any changes to it and let me know 🙂

July 31, 2014 at 4:11 am in reply to: Lighting Problem with shadow catcher

Sorry, i thought there was only one interpretation. What i mean is that i am using the “shadow catcher plugin” and that when i apply the shadow catcher “mat” onto the plane, the shadow cast by the car seems to lighten dramatically.
I hope that makes sense now.

Oh, and no GI or AO have been used.

hey, thanks for your reply! Haven’t been on for a while.

I have changed the layout to “animation.” In the timeline, i have highlighted all the key frames. However, when i navigate to Functions> Track before/ track after, and change to “repeat after” or something, what it does is that it repeats everything.. I mean, it moves backward and repeats that cycle, not forward.

And, by the way, i have used bvh motion files for the animation if that helps…. If anyone link me any tutorials or anything on that, it would be much appreciated.
