It doesn’t need to look especially realistic and I’m very happy with the look of it. The problem is the starfield background. I could spend time getting into the intricacies of something like Blender, but I feel I’m almost there with AE.

Hello,
No I’m using Dual View with both monitors at their native resolution.

Hello,
I’ve tried lowering the Samsung monitor resolution by increasing amounts, but it’s still the same. I suspect the problem’s with PPro.
Thanks

If you import the entire BPAV folder using ‘Import Folder’ on the file dialog it’ll complain about import errors on the non-media files, but I’ve found that the mp4 files play back more smoothly.

Yes, I did. I’m using a 1920×1200 Samsung as primary and 1680×1050 HP as secondary.

Hello, yes I have, I updated a couple of days ago.

Hi,
I’ve shot with a Sony EX1, Premiere Pro likes to import XDCAM EX files by importing the containing BPAV folder so it can use the addidtional metadata files to playback the mp4 files smoothly, I’ve found. Try renaming the CQAV folder to BPAV and see if this helps.

I find it a bit annoying that it converts the stereo audio into two mono tracks, but otherwise the stable footage is much better.

I have exactly the same problem, as I’ve posted on here before. I’m using Premiere CS4.01 with Sony EX1 HDCAM EX footage (1920×1080 25p). I’m using the correct Sequence (HDCAM EX 1080p (HQ)) and my system is a Core i7 940 (2.93GHz stabiliy overclocked to 3.4GHz) – 8 cores effectively, 3GB DDR3 memory, nVidia 9600GT 512MB graphics card and WD VelociRaptor HDD (10000rpm). This is enough to cope with editing HD video, I would have thought.
I get jumpy playback, that’s intermittant. I find that rendered video is often worse. I’m using draft quality playback and the CPU isn’t heavily loaded. The video jumps and stalls along with the audio. I’ve tried a number of things. I’ve even taken the overclocking off and stopped the processor SpeedStepping.

I’m not convinced it’s overclocking that’s the problem. With or without it’s the same. I’m wondering if it’s the processor using SpeedStep that’s causing instability, but I’m not convinced of that either. I’ve noticed that the problem’s worse with rendered video. My system is a Core i7 940 2.93GHz (stabiliy overclocked to 3.35GHz) with a third full WD Velociraptor HDD running at 10K rpm, 3GB of DDR3 memory, I’m running on Windows XP Pro. I’ve got plenty of power to edit and play HD video without bottlenecks.
