PPro CS4 Dual monitor problem
Hello, I’m trying to get a second monitor to work. I’ve set it up in the Sequence Settings>Playback Settings to use a second monitor to show video. The second monitor goes black, the ‘monitor’ application shows up in the task bar but the screen remains black instead of showing the video. I’m using a nVidia 9600GT graphics card.
I’ve noticed if I drag PPro to the second monitor, neither the Program or Source monitors show their video, only in the primary monitor. I can play Windows Media Player video in the second monitor and PPro in the primary, simultaneously. I can’t see whether this is a graphics card or PPro problem?

Do you have the latest drivers for the vid card? I’ve got some 9600s on a couple of machines and can view on a second monitor with no problem.

Did you have this problem before you updated the drivers and attempted to fix it by updating.

Yes, I did. I’m using a 1920×1200 Samsung as primary and 1680×1050 HP as secondary.

Try reducing the resolution a step or two on the large monitor and see if the overlay comes back on the smaller monitor

I’ve tried lowering the Samsung monitor resolution by increasing amounts, but it’s still the same. I suspect the problem’s with PPro.

There are very few problems running 9xxx series with Ppro, when you setup your dual monitors you are extending your desktop across both monitors? -

No I’m using Dual View with both monitors at their native resolution.
