CS4 doesn’t like XDCAM EX mp4 format?
Posted by Simon Davis on February 26, 2009 at 7:42 pmI’ve been having on-going problems with poor, jumpy playbck of XDCAM EX 1920×1080 25p footage. Using Sony’s Clip Browser software to convert to MXF format, which keeps the resolution and quality, I have no problems at all. I can put MXF and MP4 clips of the same footage together on the same sequence and the playback is always problematic when it hits the MP4 clips.

March 30, 2009 at 3:02 pmhi guys,
I’m having some problems with premiere ad xd cam ex3, premiere supports the format mp4, the format of xd cam, premiere shows the format in the dialog box of import, but when i try to import a file .mp4 premiere says that the file could be damaged or unsupported format, but in the same computer after effects imports the file, that says that the file isn’t corrupted or damaged. There are a missing codec or something in premiere? Do you know why this happens?
thanks a lot

April 6, 2009 at 1:59 pmthanks for help, actualy I’m an CS3 user, but is the same anyway,
and I dissolve the problem installing the update on premiere CS3 3.0
to 3.2 and it fixes the problems, but if you don’t have, in case of premiere, all of the files that XDCAM does, even if premiere supports the format you cannot oppen the files mp4, in other words
premieres uses the path of the files .XML, that are insede the folder BPAV that XDCAM does while recording the scenes, if you don’t copy the entire folder BPAV who have the folders CLPR (wich is the clips inside) and the folder TAKR and the .XML premiere could not recognizes the file .mp4, if you lose these files you can rename the files mp4 to m4v, then premiere will recognizes then, uhuhh, not quit simple ahn?!!? now about after effects, can take the files anyway. well, i wish can help some people. thanks for help.
