I have the same issue. This and my previous post are my biggest hurdles. Major time consumer for such a basic thing that’s not been a problem for years.

[Jeremy Garchow] “What was this shot on? How was the workflow?”

    5D & 7D

[Jeremy Garchow] “Where’d you do the grade?”

    FCPX.

[Jeremy Garchow] “What was composted in FCP? In AE? Elsewhere?”

All in AE. Made rough composites in FCPX and did notice the green screen keyer works pretty well.

[Jeremy Garchow] “Any other snippets or things you might have learned along the way?

I was scared to use FCPX. I learned I really like it. Of course I noticed the bugs others talk about. But it worked. Fool Cut was necessary though. Synch Audio saved me a ton of time synching each band members performance. Im stoked on FCPX. Excited to see it mature. 😀

Compound Clips in FCPX translating to PreComposed Comps in AE is awesome. Huge. In the video that wide FX shot is 5 takes. Shot each band member separately on green screen. I made that a compound clip, roughly arranged them in the timeline in FCPX. Then that compound clip comes into AE already a precomposed comp. Sweet!
