October 22, 2012 at 6:47 am in reply to: Can I get professional quality video (for broadcast) from a Canon T3i?The Canon Cameras are used in broadcast see https://blogs.aljazeera.com/blog/asia/shooting-news-dslr
But bear in mind you may need to uprez you codec as certain requirement want a recording of file of 50MBbs and 422 colour space.
DSLR fails this so a conversion is needed, DSLR is great for web delivery see many showreels here and projects well, it maybe worth checking with your broadcaster or commissioning company to see what the final delivery or recommended camera/footage specs they require.

Hi Curtis this is a well publicised fact and is also in your instruction manual, even the Canon 1DX or 5D MkIII stops continuous recording at 29.59 mins. This limitation is both a recording and a crucial operational to stop your DSLR being classed as a Camcorder, in Europe this recording length in one take anyl onger would render this in different tax/duty class a camcorder and increase its price.
Primarily you have DSLR photographic camera that shoot video not the other way round.
To overcome this limitation you can record via HDMI to an Atmos Ninja or a device that will record hdmi output to a hard disk recorder or capture to a computer.

The Adobe Anywhere and creative cloud solutions look good, but also in the field and offline I look to nexto di card cloner that copies and verifies that data with bit parity checking to maintain data integrity then use shotput pro to copy to an external gtech mini drive and raid set up – afterwards archive project and files to DVD or Bluray

October 22, 2012 at 6:08 am in reply to: How do I get both front and back objects in focusI agree use your F-stop and decrease your aperture this is extend your focus length of iris and shoot with a zoom lens, this can help you alter focusing distance you need as well.
