i understand now that I am able to capture HDV via firewire with FCP5, and DVCPro HD on 4.5

But im still a little fuzzy on the other issue:
Are there any known problems with projects done on 4.5 being on 5? Assuming project is already completed and I need to revisit it, and only one project is open at a time,

Hi

I just experienced the same problem .

Finished sequence on FCP, captured from DV, and edited with DV Sequence setting. Everything looked fine on timeline playback.

Then i exported sequence as a .mov file, turned out about 2.7Gb file. Popped it into Titanium Toaster and burned it as DVD.

DVD looked fine on cmpt playback, but stutters on external DVD player.

Anyone got any suggestions?

regarding Q1, i read somewhere that I can preview it when I edit to tape or print to video. But does that mean that it is the only time it will show on the monitor?

I need to view my clips and edits to view the colours, effects, titles, etc. I really need to it work on the monitor other than during output.
