    Hey Matt

We are busy cutting a couple of HDV docs in Premiere 2.0 and “extendend desktop”. It is great to have HD monitoring even if it isn’t perfect. I have to remove the BM plug ins to get it to work as they somehow take over the source monitor even in an HDV job.

When I’m done editorially I’ll import the project into a BM8bit HD job to render and print.

Quite an economical workflow for drive space.

Looking forward to BMs HDV setup when you get it working…and support for DVCPro50 and 100, and P2 and….

    Oops Alt-Tab is fine.

Ctrl Tab is gone! It was bad enough having to cycle through windows. I’m used to Edit with a hot key for each window.

This is too much mousing around for me. I think the design team must have Macs at home.

Do you know if you can upgrade windows to 64 bit or do you have to do a clean install from scratch.

Dave you are not alone. I haven’t played with the keyboard settings. Cntrl tab between windows doesn’t work either, nor does alt tab between applications.

What do we have in common?

    Tyan s2895
    AMD Opteron270
    4 gig ram
    Geforce 6800GT – dual monitors
    Blackmagic Decklink HD Pro 422

There is another work around I’ve tried breifly. When you are done capturing you can create a black magic NTSC 4×3 8bit job but go into custom settings and set the height at 480 instead of 486. Import your work into this job for editing.

I only did a little work this way so I’m not sure its perfect.

    Hi

We have four systems we put together and are located in the West end of Toronto. http://www.berkeleystudio.org .

Email me at berekeley(nospam)@united-church.ca with “shane” as the subject header and you can drop by some time.

You might want to wait a couple of weeks while we get pp2 setup and see its advantages and limitations.

I take that back. No it isn’t fixed in 5.4, not with PPro1.51 anyway. So you’ll need to reverse the fields or shift the video down a line for the duration of the FX.

Yes DV gets shifted (up I think) a line during rendered FX so the fields end up reversed. A workaround is reversing the fields or shifting the video down a line for the duration of the render.

I’m not sure if this is fixed in 5.4 or not. I didn’t notice the problem in a peice I am currently working on in 5.4.

    Is it fixed Luke? Matt?

January 27, 2006 at 12:30 am in reply to: PP2 – subtimeline audio distortion

    Hi

I can reproduce with just tone on a sequence, add Stereo EQ +5db at 5khz, then pull that sequence into a new timeline and distortion.

    BUT….

I think you guys are on to something. In the Audio hardware if I select “NVIDIA ASIO” for the sound card, or “DECKLINK AUDIO” the problem appears, but if I select “Adobe default windows sound 1.5” and set the ASIO settings to output to either of the same sound cards it is fine.

    Strange.

    Thanks for the help.
