I think it really depends on how much you want to spend. You can buy a computer system off the apple website from between 1200 and 4 thousand dollars. The Final Cut Pro software is 1300 dollars, and you can spend anywhere from 300 to 3000 dollars on a digital camera. Again it really depends on what you want to spend.

I’ve had some problems with audio being out of synch. I did a recapture and everything was fine.

I guess the question is how close to hollywood do you want to come? (i’m assuming you mean the film look) You can buy a prosumer camcorder, tweak some settings on the setting and apply some filters in post production and get pretty good results. Again the question is how close do you want to come? You obviously need more expensive equipment to get top notch results. You’ll hear other people say they get great results on less expensive equipment.

Jeff, I think you understood exactly what I was trying to say, but I guess I advertised it wrong. I definately was looking to learn the whole work flow before I jumped in and took the lead. It’s not like I’m learning how to shoot video, I’m just trying to learn the work flow, understand where to be for the best shots etc….etc…..
I should have took more time to be a advertise a little more clearly. -
Thanks for the advice fellas. Maybe I am going about it all wrong. My intention was to do a few shoots for free, maybe 2 or 3. Just to get some material for my portfolio. But you recommend just charging right off the bat?

I took a look, and it looked like those different “B” models were just kits. They came with a few different accessories. I could be wrong though.

Thanks soo much. After doing some research myself, I think I may have to step into the 400-500 range. Like the guy said if you have a good picture, you might as well strive to have good audio as well.
