Hi Charles,
Invigorator Classic will work nicely. As Steve already said, you need to tell invigorator to use the AE camera.
If your company can afford it I would suggest that you upgrade to the pro version. Besides the ability of importing 3D objects etc… you will be able to track an AE 3d layer.
This last feature will tremendously help animating in unison both the Invigorator & AE 3D layers. Here is an example of an Invigorator 3D object tracking an AE 3D layer:
https://www.nyc-visual.com/3D-Tracking.movThe animation is part of a new tutorial coming out soon here at the Cow.
Salut.

November 30, 2009 at 5:25 pm in reply to: I need a sphere in Proanimator with a map (texture) of the Earth on itHi Bill,
Nothing easier then this!
– Search the web for “Earth Map” to download your map.
– In the Set-Up window, click the cube icon to be in object mode then select from the “Object” menu “Create 3D Primitive” This will create a sphere.
– Now just select the “Materials tab, load your map and drag and drop the material swatch onto your selected object.
Does this help?
Salut.

My bad!
As you say both plug-ins work the same. Are you sure that your camera layer has the same length then your 3D Layer Warp layer? This is the only plausible reason why your orbit tool wouldn’t work.
Again, check the use comp camera, make your layer is 2D, your camera layer has the same length and try again. BTW. The orbit camera tool is right to the Rotation tool and looks very similar, maybe you are using the wrong tool. Sorry, but things like that may happen;-)

Hi Richie,
To use the AE orbit tool you need to do the following:
– First create an AE camera.
– Make sure that the Invigorator layer is NOT set to 3D.
– In your effects control window, check the box that says “Use Comp Camera.
– Now you can use the orbit tool.
Let us know if you still have issues.

Hi Nelson,
The Open GL feature will use your graphic card’s CPU. Depending on how powerful your card is, you may gain some speed by previewing or even for your final render. There is a limitation though when using the Open GL render; It does not support transparency or Bump-Mapping.
Who is “Dj” btw? I bought PA from the Bar-tender. She was cutter…
Joking by side, if you can,(Talk to the TS people) I would advise you to upgrade your software.

Stephen, To learn more about live PS 3D please follow this link:
https://help.adobe.com/en_US/AfterEffects/9.0/WS510B8F17-8644-43ce-977F-96784840A64B.htmlIt shouldn’t have been the problem though. I assume that the first time you imported your PS file the “Photosop Sequence” box was checked and the second time not and un-checking the “Live PS 3D” box in the layer options just made you think it was the culprit.
The PS sequence option box is located right here:

Hi Stephen,
Please make sure when you import your psd file that the “Photoshop Sequence” option in not selected in the “Import File” window.
Does that help?
Salut.

Hi,
I second Todd & Steve on this one,
I would just buy a 3D object, use ProAnimator/Invigorator pro to import the model and then go nuts!
If the form of your spaceship is not too complex you may even be able to create it with PA/Invigorator.
Do you have a visual of your ship to show us?
