  • Hi,

I apologize for not going into details in this thread. I just came back home after a long shoot. (3:00 AM)

What I want to quickly say before going to bed is that just like Jon I do understand your frustration. The main point here is that (As I already stated in the Training DVD) Auto tracing is a PAIN! Jon and I advised not to use this method in many posts for obvious reasons. I wish someone would prove us wrong! Life would be much easier;-)

The reasons why spikes occur in Invigorator and how you can get rid of them were also explained in this forum as well as in my DVD. The problem is due mostly because of the autotracing feature. From what I understand you seam to have used this feature quite often and didn’t get any luck either.

    Last three things:

1- You shouldn’t feel bad asking for help in this forum at any time as we all benefit from “QUESTIONS & Answers”

2- The “Send me your file”, “Here is an example for you” etc… is in my opinion not a negative option. Each project is unique and having a look at a file (ai,AEP,PS…) helps us to serve you better.

3- Give us a concrete wish list on what could help you eliminate your weak points.

    Salut.
    serge

    You are welcome;-)

One more thing, when you save your ai artwork using CS2 make sure that you uncheck the “Use Compression” box in the IL options dialog.

    Salut,

    Hey,

    Easy as pie;-)

-Import your logo into IL & lock your image layer.

-Using the Pentool, trace the crown on a new layer.

-Create a third layer to trace the double “N”

-Ask the artist who created the logo to tell you what font he/she used for the “Nelson @ Night” get the font and type your title using the Invigorator/Proanimator built in text editor.

-As to the stars in the crown you could easily map them.

Here is a quick example for you to play:

Let us know if you need more help.

    Hi Nelsonmay10,

[nelsonmay10] “I have decided to invest in Zaxwerks Pro Animator.”

    Smart move!

[nelsonmay10] “Can you give me some quick steps on how to create a vectors in Illustrator.”

What do you want to create?

[nelsonmay10] “I also have Photoshop CS2 and saw in another post, you can export vector paths in limited capacity. How would I go about that?”

Create your shapes then go to File>Export>Paths To Illustrator

When you import your ai file make sure you use the “Open As Layers” feature to avoid certain limitations.

Basically to get the best results you have to use Illustrator to create your shapes and PS & or AE to create your maps.

Check out the tutorials here at the Cow, read the manual, ask specific questions in this forum and you will be in no time a happy customer;-)

    Salut,
    Serge

November 9, 2007 at 2:30 am in reply to: 3D present with bow. Any help?

Hey, I agree with Jon the project starts to really look good.

[Reins] “As you advised, I used the zaxwerks camera to animate most of the movement of the present.”

What I meant was not to animate the camera but to use the camera in your set-up window to change to different views during your modeling process.

Did you manage to get your box behave correctly when you use your 3D trackers?

Just in case you didn’t shoot me an e-mail so I can send you a new project. (My server is down for the moment so I can’t upload anything)

Now the anim is great but I would still work on a nice texture map for the box;-)

    Salut,
    Serge

    Hey,

Please have a look at the pivot point part of lesson one.

In order to animate the way you describe you need to create a common pivot point for all your objects/sets.

So I would first start with creating the pivot points for each set, make them invisible and add the sides, ribbons, etc…

I also noticed that you tried to alter the position of some objects in the scene preview window. Don’t do that. Arrange all your objects to form the box inside of the Set-Up window and try to keep them at the center of the world origin. If you need to have a different view for instance, use the camera tools don’t select your objects and move them around etc…

I am working on Volume 2 that emphasis on Animation your example is perfect.

let me know if you get stuck again.

    Salut.
    Serge
