I would just say it’s not about the software. Too many people get cought up in what software the buy or edit with. Avid, Adobe, Apple – who cares. Talent is all that matters. Make that your focus and you’ll always make more money than the guys cought up in the software debate.

    Good luck!

I think things have calmed down enough and you’re allowed to say nice things about FCP X now.

A month ago you would have been called every name in the book for saying what you just said.

You know – X is over, a joke, a toy, we must all run to Premier.

Funny – just read an article about how Sony’s new $100,000 SRMaster rig integrates with iMovie Pro…….

I don’t know the entire history of PCI, but I think they only have PCIe cards now.

I was under the impression that PCI-X was on G5’s and PCI was G3/G4.

Anyone want to clear this up?

What computer do you have and what slots does it have?

Anyone with tips on a 60P workflow:

    Sony FS100 – 60P
    FCP 7 and BMC DL Studio 2 – 60p???

I shot 60p footage with my FS100. Hooked up the USB cable to the Mac and used FPC7 log and trans.

FCP would only recognize the files that I shot using slow-mo and not my regular 60p files.

BTW – the slow-mo files looked horrible – low rez and interlaced.

    Any ideas?

the conversion feature is amazing. it’s worth buying just for that.

i will still get this, just wish the SDD drives weren’t so much $ per min. of video at 10 bit UN.

is it possible for BM to add NLE native codecs in the future? (FCP ProRes)

Hey Chris – I can handle that. I’ve made some generalized criticisms about ELITE PRO’s = Whinners and haters. But I’m certainly not intending to insult any one person.

I have been personally instulted and criticised because “FCP X is working perfectly for me and I love it!”, but that’s no big deal, we’re all just voicing our opinions and frustrations.

So the haters can come on here all they want and cry, kick, and sceam, just don’t level personal insults to people who have made up their minds to use FCP X and like it.

I hope to spend more time in the Techniques forum where it’s much more productive. But this is fun too. 🙂

Ok – X calls it “history” once you open a compound clip. So yes it’s the same timeline, just 2 different views.

I really don’t want to break apart my clips. Just want to uncheck stabilization and have the effect “turn-off”

    Has anyone seen this issue?

I got a work-around. Just currious if it’s a bug or if I’m doing something wrong.

I double clicked the compound clip in the “new compound clip” time-line and it takes you back to the original time line with all of the clips, edits, etc.

That is where the stabilization was applied.
