I see the problem, but I can’t jog frame-by-frame in flash. Try the “Inverse Telecine” option in JES instead of “Deinterlace.” Check the box to detect cadence breaks.

So you’re saying FCP has no reason to look for your Unity, yet it won’t launch until you’ve mounted it? That’s very odd.

You leave the sequence as XDcam, but have it render as ProRes in the render control.

Go to mediadistributors.com and ask for a quote for “Certified Media.”
Personally I’m comfortable using recycled tape for digital formats. Not so much for analog.

1.85:1 is called “Flat”
2.35-2.40:1 is called “Scope”1.85:1 is close to 16×9, but not quite.

I seem to remember you could open up FCP files like they were folders by doing a “Show Package Contents” and in there would be xmls of your sequences and such. Doesn’t look like I can do that with FCP6 anymore, but maybe with your 4.5 projects you can???
