I’m involved in archiving a film with hundreds of different Final Cut Pro projects and versions, most of which need to be saved. Currently, projects and media are all backed up on a large external drive, and we plan to transfer them to an internal drive. I’m hoping to whiddle down the unneeded projects, but there will still be hundreds of projects.

My question: is there an easy way to automatically relink the projects to the media once they are copied to new drive. Won’t Final Cut have difficulty with the new file locations? For example, all files were pulling from STORAGE/Media now pulling from LACIE/Media. Due to the excessive amount of projects and media, is there an easy step that saves me having to Reconnect Media every time I open up a project, so that Final Cut will automatically pull from this new drive for all of these hundreds of projects.

Name the drive the same as the other one.

So it’s that simple. I guess I was overthinking. Thanks!
