AJA or “AJAH” Pronounciation
Posted by Anthony Fennell on March 26, 2009 at 4:26 pmI know stupid question but I want to settle the score with a professor
Is it pronounced A.J.A. letter per letter or “AJAH” as I have often heard it called
Either way I love that little lunch box.

March 26, 2009 at 5:00 pmYou say each letter. Your professor is right. But in practice everyone I know says it like a word.

Sean is correct.
the Company name comes from someone initials.however…..
AJA gave away t-shirts at NAB a couple of years ago, that listed 5-6 different pronunciations with a tag line that read something like ” we don’t care what you call us”gary adcock

Which is how I usually say it. I’ve had cogent conversations with people who say “ah-jah”, and we’ve usually understood each other (at least about the capture device!). But they answer the phone “Ay-Jay-Ay video.”
