There’s already been a massive flood. It’s more serious than you think. I’ve read the failure rate for this drive is as high as 40%. Take a look:

Unprotected RAID-0. Nothing on there I can’t restore, but I’m taking this very seriously and finding out if I have the bad firmware or not. So much for the MLK holiday.

I disagree with Shane and Walter. I don’t think using Mac Minis as render nodes is necessarily a bad idea at all. People out there are doing this. They’re not very powerful (although quad-core models may come out soon), but they sure are more efficient in terms of space, electricity, and money. It all depends on the situation.

One is the newer model. I think there’s an even new one, the 2409.

The best place to find rumors like this are appleinsider.com and the general tech blogs (Engadget and Gizmodo). You’re not going to find any inside scoop here.

The “ATI 3780 Mac & PC Edition” is probably the best choice. On paper it’s similar in performance to the 8800 and it’s priced about the same – however Color and Motion are optimized for ATI cards, not Nvidia, so those apps benchmark much better.
I recently made the mistake of buying an 8800. Because the 3780 is ATI branded, not Apple, it flew under my radar.

Had to uninstall “Perian” and remove the components from the /Library/Quicktime. That fixed it.

CHeck out the Belkin Nostromo SpeedPad. You can have it do whatever you want. You can assign a key so that when you hold it down it “pushes N in FCP” and pushes it again when you release that key.

Sounds like QT is misinterpreting the length. If you can’t actually identify an extra 6 frames, then there’s probably nothing to worry about.

The AUDIO TS folder is always empty on a DVD. Have you actually played a disc to see if there’s sound, or are you just assuming there isn’t any because that folder is empty?
