  • It’s rendered in C4D with the physical setting.

And thanks very much for the reply. I’ll look up what Element 3d is because I have never used it.

As usual, I wound up figuring out what went wrong after I’d made a post for help. But for those few who may have followed in my ignorant footsteps this is what happened.

I finally realized that I had an in and out point on the time line and the clips I was trying to place in it were too large for the selection that I had already made.

Sorry to those who clicked on this post in order to help, and thanks…

UPDATE: This has been driving me crazy, but I finally figured out why it wasn’t working. I had the Renderer set to Standard instead of Physical (that I usually have it on). Once I changed it back to that everything works.

    Definitely did.

Was wondering if you’d know a way to do what the problem was (the background going solid) on purpose. I kind of like the effect. I just didn’t like the color and not having control of it. I was thinking of changing the depth of field, but it’s a 15mm lens so I don’t know if that would work.

Any regardless. Thanks for your help.

UPDATE: Andy, I took your advice and went thought different layers and oddly enough found it was disk layer that was actually on the ground and not obstructing the camera. I changed one of the material layers and it went away.

Not exactly sure what is was doing, but thanks for the suggestion… It worked!

I don’t think so, but I will check it out. It’s a good thought. There are a lot of glass panels in there.

Thanks for the response, Andy. I really appreciate it…

  • Hi Joe,

And thanks for the reply. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have done that already. I have gone from Photoshop to AI and also done an image trace in AI and exported then imported into c4d. And like I said, I got it to work on a complicated logo from Image Trace in AI to C4D, but then later it hasn’t ever worked.

Also there is nothing in the null (no paths) when I import into c4d. Strange.

But thanks for the reply. I appreciate it…

UPDATE: I solved this by copying the animation from the Timeline (Dopesheet) and pasting it to to where I moved it.

Thanks, Andy very much for the reply. I wound up going back to the letters I created and edited and then beveled each one separately and it worked out.

    Thanks again for the response…
