I tried doing this but did something wrong. I took the Beizer tool and drew in a shape then while I was on that layer, I tried to key it, but didn’t see the effect even after I jockeyed around some of the layer orders. Did I do something wrong? I am by no means an expert in Motion. Thanks for your reply.

Here it is. Forgive the aspect ratio, you’ll get the idea. Thanks…I

PS I am not really worried about the smoke. I feel like I can get that to play. It is far from finished. It is only the mat moving that is bothering me….

I did run in through some stabilization, but then though better of it. I thought it might be better to do at the end.

No, I haven’t tried the track points filter. Thanks… I’ll check that out.

So there is no way to key out the sky?

Basically you are telling me that I have to start from scratch?

    Thanks for the responses…Ian

    Hi Noah,

    Here’s a link…. https://triadproductions.us/TempVideo/TrainBy2a

The effects aren’t finished or the moon, but you can see toward the toward the top right side of the building where most of the problem is. The mat isn’t tracked all the way yet either. Thanks…Ian

    Really Bob,

Why do you have to come off with such attitude when this person is obviously new and wants some information? If this forum was just for seasoned professionals then no one would be on here because everyone would know everything. There was a time when you were new to this and you might want to remember it. Would you like to have been treated in the same way? Give me and everyone else a break and lighten up…Ian

March 7, 2010 at 3:10 am in reply to: Smoothcam Jumps on Unusual Material

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for the response. I did try smoothcaming (there’s a new word) the part of the segment that needed it, but because the smoothcam would increase the scale of the shot I would get a jump at that point.

After I posted I got back into it and fixed the problem by combining a new clip that had the smoothcam on it, with the original that didn’t I just had to deal with the tip of the house coming in from black. So I increased the scale to match what the smoothcam had done and then shifted the original so the two shots would line up. I had to deal with a slight shift in the black, but I smoothed it out and now it seems to play.

I would have reposted last night, but because this was my first post I was being moderated or something.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion and for getting back to me. Cheers…Ian

Hi Randy and thanks very much for responding…

I’m not sure what dumping your preference files
means, but will look into it. Will this cause any
problems with other projects that I’m currently working on or
will I need to reset all my preferences for them?
    Thanks…Sean
